Loading ...Samsung has done it again with the LNT4042H LCD high definition television. This unit is perfect for anyone looking to get in on the high definition LCD TV craze at an affordable price. Its 40 inch LCD screen offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 7000:1 with a 170 degree viewing angle. With the Samsun Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer technology, the picture is refined and smoothed on all NTSC analog and wideband video input. The DNIe also improves the white level, picture detail and contrast, while reducing digital noise to make the picture on lower quality video input better looking, too.
The LNT4042H by Samsung has a panel with a response time of 8 ms. “Response time” refers to the time it takes for the screen to go from the darkest color to the lightest color and back again. It’s measured in milliseconds, and a response time of 8 ms is on the higher end of the spectrum in terms of speed. Another feature that helps keep the display clean and clear is the 3D Y/C digital comb filter. The comb filter is perpetually analyzing the picture’s dimensions – picture height, picture width, and the picture’s changes over time – to drastically reduce edge image artifacts and enhance the transition detail. The 8 ms response time and the 3D comb filter work together to provide smooth viewing of quick action sequences in movies or any other things that move rapidly.
Excellent virtual surround sound is built right into this HD TV, thanks to the two hidden side mounted speakers. You get a high quality, simulated surround sound effect by way of Samsung’s SRS TruSurround XT technology. This technology brings three amazing audio enhancements to your home theater – Dialog Clarity, which helps bring out speech during the playing of any surround encoded media so you can hear the dialog more clearly; TruBass, which enhances bass in a rich and vibrant way, so that you can hear tones deeper than the speaker is actually physically capable of; and finally, the SRS WOW technology, which processes media for the two speaker system in the unit to “widen the sound stage,” and dramatically enhance sound quality. There’s even a headphone jack. In terms of other jacks and connections, this unit has 3 HDMI ports (High Definition Multimedia Interface), one RF in, two Y/Pb/Pr in connections, one S-Video input in the back and one on the side, a PC input, and two A/V inputs (one on the side, and another in the back).
